There has been much talk lately of the Three Days of Darkness, and the end times. What is the Three Days of Darkness? It is an eschatological prophecy of future events, where the whole earth is darkened for three days and nights while the earth is purified. According to Marie-Julie Jahenny, it would occur on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday; all of Hell would be let loose to strike at those outside their homes and those without a lit blessed candle of pure wax. These candles would miraculously stay aflame the entire period, but not light at all in the houses of the godless.

Holy Scripture speaks of it, as well as many Saints and visionaries, such as Blessed Anna Maria Taigi (1769-1837), St Gaspar del Bufalo (1786-1837), St Mariam Baouardy (1846-1878), Blessed Sr Elena Aiello (1895-1961), Sr Agnes Sasagawa (1973-present), and Marie-Julie Jahenny (1850-1941).

In 1875, the Holy Spirit said to Marie-Julie: “There will be two days of horrible darkness, distinct from those advertised (I.e, different from the 3 days). The sky will be purple and red, so low that the clump of tall trees will be as lost. These two days will warn you, as an authentic proof of His goodness, as proof of descent from the wrath of God on earth. You will not be free from the darkness. So far, no soul has mentioned it, because those are not many who were made aware. To resist all these signs, holy water is a strength and consolation, and the candle, but with wax. All those that are not of this paste will not help.”

On the three days of darkness, Blessed Taigi said: " A very thick darkness shall envelop the earth, during three days. This awful darkness will be so impregnated with pestilential vapours, and filled with such frightful apparitions, that they will cause, in a more special manner, the death of the hypocritical or avowed enemies of the Holy Church."

St Gaspar said in one of his prophecies that there will be a terrible punishment of darkness, and recommended devotion to the Precious Blood as protection in the times of tribulation. On these three days, St Gaspar del Bufalo spoke of the death of the unrepentant persecutors of the Church. The death of the impenitent persecutors of the Church will take place during the Three Days of Darkness. He who outlives the darkness, and the fear of these three days will think that he is alone on earth because the whole world will be covered by carcasses..."       ( source; Traditional Mass Newsletter Una Voce Canada)

ONLY BLESSED BEESWAX CANDLES will give light. One such candle will suffice for each household during the three days of darkness. They will not give light in the homes of the impious and blasphemers.
